EINER VON ACHT

One out of eight people in Germany is not able to read and write properly. Those so-called functional illiterate have big trouble in living their everyday life, not only because they can't read the newspaper. Written words can be found everywhere. And while we don't really seem to notice them anymore, they still exist.

The book I created as my bachelor's project explains the difficult definition of illiteracy, it shows the most common problems, and how illiterate people work and live around them.

Additional, a not immediately readable text puts the viewer in a position, in which it might be easier to understand how it feels to not be able to read and write.
